Pause - let’s take a step back.
This year, Leadium is committed to making the Outbound Sales community better. And we wholeheartedly believe that one way to make our community better is through telling stories about this awesome industry. Because history has proven that through storytelling, we make meaningful connections with each other, learn more, grow more, and ultimately, effect positive change in our communities.
Aw...that’s sweet and lovely, and true.
But also, let’s be honest - this community of thick-skinned, metrics-driven, relentless grinders that we know as SDRs (or BDRs, ADRs, IDRs) are sharing some pretty hilarious (or terrifying) prospecting stories over their poké bowl lunches every single day.
Why not capture those stories in the first-ever book by SDRs for SDRs?
It will be perfect for that office white elephant gift exchange, your condo’s coffee table, or even to be used as fun on-boarding reading material for your fresh new hires to get them ready for the craziness ahead.
Or a doorstop. Whatever.
But we are getting ahead of ourselves. We need the stories first!
Sit down, relax, and think back to those moments as an SDR that got your adrenaline pumping - for good or bad. We have some thought starters for you:
- What have been the memorable prospect responses - the good, the bad, and the ugly? Both over the phone and email, those prospects really have a way of sometimes forgetting we are humans too, don’t they?
- Did you have a technology-gone-wrong moment? Maybe you just learned a new automation platform, and whoops….something bad happened.
- What are some outbound words of advice or encouragement that you were given that really helped you succeed that you would like to share with others on the revenue frontlines?
- What are your coworker stories? What did you learn from that great coworker? And what did you learn from that not so great one (that now works at The Gap)?
